How do I convince my non-gambling husband that he’ll have a good time in Vegas?

Question by jenjais: How do I convince my non-gambling husband that he’ll have a good time in Vegas?
and that there are plenty of other things to do in Vegas besides gamble. Any help you can provide, and ideas of what to do besides gambling, would be very appreciated!!

Well like you said, there a plenty of other things to do in Vegas. I have never been myself, but I know that there are TONS of shows (music, magic, dancing, lights/lasers, etc.) and wonderful restaurants. There are also numerous golf courses, and you can take excursions to places like the Grand Canyon. Tell him to go check out www.lasvegas.com and do some research before he gets all upset about the gambling. Good luck!

  1. Las Vegas offers lots of things besides gambling. If he plays golf he may enjoy playing on one of the several courses in the area. Las Vegas has become a hotbed of sporting events and entertainment. I would check an events calendar for Las Vegas to see who’s in town. If he is into baseball, and depending on the time of year you visit, Las Vegas has a minor league baseball team ( the 51’s a LA Dodger farm team.)
Bottom line- there is ALWAYS something going on in Vegas !

When we go to Vegas we never gamble. Who has the time? There is far too much to do to sit in front of a slot machine for hours. You didn’t mention any of his interests but there are plenty of spectacles just walking down the strip. Looking at all the excitement going on can take days. There are also plenty of animal attractions (Mandalay Bay Aquarium, Seigfried and Roys Secret Garden). The Bellagio Fountains are not to be missed (free!) and there is also supposed to be a new spectacular chocolate fountain in the forum shops. The Mirage and TI have shows at night (free) and a lot of the bars have performers. Harrah’s has a great dueling pianos performance. There is so much to see and do there, he won’t have time to sit down, unless that’s what he wants to do then most of the hotels have spectacular pools to lounge by.
