wife uses my credit cards and bebit cards to gamble thousands of dollars on the internet. she has promissed time after time after time she will not do it again. I had to close out my checking account because it was overdraw more that I could pay at one time.I took away the credit cards and open a new account but she used the debit card like a credit card on the new checking account .I need a Bank Account for credit history with leanders and to write checks . my wife knows all of my financial information short of a devorce what esle can I do?

turn off the internet
Take computers out of the house and when your wife asks where they are, tell her you sold them to support your drug habit. Ask her why she can have a gambling addiction and you cannot have a drug addiction.

Get rid of the internet, or at least get some software to block all the gambling sites. Change bank accounts, dont give her the details until she gets some help.

You can block all gambling websites through your computer or through your router if you have one. But i would suggest changing the password you have on your computer (so she doesn’t know it) and don’t let her on the computer unless your home. Do Not give her, her own user account. Just have 1 and you should be the only one who knows the password.
I have a very close person to myself that had(s) a similar problem. We almost lost everything.
I opened my own account and she has no access to my account or plastic. I have to hide my everything from her so she can’t get money from my account. If she needs money she has to get her own or ask me for it. I pay all the bills now and don’t trust her with anything to do with money.
When she hit the bottom she went for counselling and is much better with her habit now. I’m not sure weather she’s cured or not though.

You can set up your computer to use open dns servers, and block all those sites. Over 20,000 schools use open dns, and it works. You just set it up with the filters you want to use. Google opendns, for more information. I think your real answer is to get all new accounts, and don’t put her on any of them. That should stop her from being able to use them. If her name is on the accounts, then what ever she does will go through. If you are not willing to take that step, then nothing you do is going to work. Don’t fall for the If something happens to you, she can’t get the money because she’s not on the account. That’s bull if you were to die, she can get the money. But while alive she can’t. So Close all accounts, get new ones without her name on them. As far as your credit history, sooner of later it’s going to be bad if you leave her on it.
