Question by .: Who agrees that yahoo answers is not a dating site?
Does anyone else agree with me that you should find someone closer to you and not online somewhere where only god knows where they live? I just realized this and it took me all this time to realize. Relationships on this website are pointless because you end up heartbroken.

Also the guy you like might not turn out to be who he says he is. For anyone on this website who is considering this an official dating website maybe you should look at the community guidelines where it says that yahoo is not meant to be a dating site. Just saying. Does anyone else agree with me here?

Any book titled something like, “Introduction to Financial Management” should do. Keep in mind that “Introduction to Financial Accounting” is often required for the first finance class.

The books are a bit long-winded for someone who isn’t seeking to learn it all.

You can try researching individual finance topics. I would suggest starting out with “time value of money,” which includes future value, present value, both types of annuities, internal rate of return, and net present value. Learn the concepts and learn how to do the math by hand (just the simpler equations like present value and future value), using a financial calculator (if you have a TI BA-II plus or a TI-83 or later), using Excel, and using the time value tables. Many of the other topics assume that you are comfortable with those.

Next, I would suggest learning the financial statements and the basic financial analysis ratios. They are useful tools in finance. If you’re not interested in company finance, you may want to skip this. However, I believe most of the principles in formalized company finance are very useful when applied to personal finance.

You may also want to learn a little bit about the mechanics of buying and selling stock, bonds, futures, and options. Be careful, though. Don’t get any bright ideas about trying your luck in the markets unless you’ve spent years studying it diligently and have a mentor. When I saw mentor, I mean a real one, not an internet mentor or anyone who makes money mentoring. Getting your feet wet too early in the markets is too much like gambling.

Hi,
I never sell advertising from my site. I constantly get people asking, maybe I should start.

My whole site will be redesigned soon. It needs to look a lot better, and the content needs to be updated.

The best thing about my site is that it ranks so high naturally (#1 on google and yahoo for “how to gamble”, and other key words.

If I ever did it, I would not put more than 5 or maybe 10 links on the home page.

Maybe, I could charge more for the size of banners?

Is there some kind of appraisal website that specializes in this stuff?

There are no websites that can appraise how much you can sell advertising spaces for. The only thing you can consider is how much the market is willing to pay, and your rate will depend on several factors:

- Who is your audience and how desirable is your audience to the advertisers? If your audience are techies or those who have the propensity to purchase higher-ticket items, then you can charge a higher price as compared to an audience of bird lovers.
What is the rate of comparative websites in your niche? You don’t want to overprice yourself out of the market yet you don’t want to undercharge as well.

- What is the rate advertisers are willing to pay in your site? You may charge per CPM but if nobody’s taking you up on the rate even though you may get inquiries, then it could imply that advertisers may consider your rate too expensive. But if you charge .50 per CPM and advertisers are flooding in, then you may be too cheap and can afford to increase your rate.

- What is the CPM you get from other advertising vehicles? Do you run Google Adsense, and if so, what is your effective CPM rate with them? Or if you run banner ads through ad networks like Burst Media, Valueclick or Tribal Fusion, what is the CPM you’re getting? You can use those values to help you gauge your rate. It may not always work (e.g. if we use the CPM we get from Adsense, nobody’s ever going to advertise on our site because our Adsense CPM is too high) but it can give you an idea of what rate to use.

- What is the level of exposure the advertiser wants? You can lower your rate for an advertiser willing to sign a longer term contract, say for one year vis-a-vis an advertiser that signs up for only a month. You can also arrange for special rates if the advertiser is purchasing several advertising products from your site (e.g. advertiser wants to buy banner ads, text ads and newsletter sponsorship).

We are selling different ad spaces on my sites and we are a little on the high side of some similar types of websites, but our audience is attractive to advertisers and the traffic we are getting allows you to demand a higher rate than most.

My advise is to prepare your media kit — e.g. description of your audience, statistics on demographics, as well as rate card — then set a rate and see how it goes.

Hi i and anybody else can only give you a estimate because you need to take in consideration how much room you have or are going to need to have your sump, and how much fish and what type you are going to have etc.. and the big factor money how much you are willing to pay.

I would say you would be looking from the 2nd-4th model because with a tank that size you want good filtration mechanical and especially biological and maybe some chemical but the more room for biological filtration the better.

Apart from that i did do some digging around but i could not find much on them in the way of personal reviews that people have put on the internet, so it is going to be a bit of a pain trying to work out what you want. but i would suggest the 3rd model because it is not to small for a 180 gallon but yes the 4 would be even better but really you will have to just take the leap and hope you get the right one to meet your needs an wants so it is up to you.

Also remember when buying filters not only look for professional reviews and what websites say about them because they usually just state what the manufacture says on their website about them. Because i find that at the end of the day the better information comes from those that have or had that product and have info.. on it or even done a review

This can be hard because i only have a 66gallon tank and i had my mind set on getting a eheim canister, but came across the fluval g3 and began searching for info on them and only got 3 out of about 20 websites that had somebodies review on it or had information on it the was useful and 1 of the 3 was the fluval g3 website so yes i was gambling with whether to go with the fluval that had me wanting it so bad but had little info about it other than what the fluval website had on it, or to go with the eheim that had enough reviews and info on them. In the end i bought the fluval g3 and it has kept my tank extremely clean and has not broken down in the last 4 months of owning it.

I don’t think that really exists, or at least at the level that the public would really know about it. Two main reasons for this:

1) It’s hard to trust some random guy on a forum to pay up when he loses.

2) With the general crackdown on internet gambling lately, the last thing a forum owner would want is to be hauled into jail on federal Wire Act charges. They would be facilitating wagering on sports, which would put them in violation of the law.

I mean, even if you were betting through some forum, you’d have to pay somehow, right? You’d probably need a credit card anyway. I would be very surprised if something like this exists.

But i am a big sports fan so i tipically just bet on what team i think who would win. I want to find a good book with some type of game plan rather then just betting hit and miss.
