I am 30 years old I have two kids we have financial problem my husband gambles like two times a month so he is two of his pay checks going for gambling. I knew he is gambling but i was not sure then I start checking his bank account it shows where he take out money I can see all months statement and the money he is taking out in casino but he still lies.

Basically, there isn’t much you can do to stop him. He has to decide himself that he wants to change. You can tell him how you feel and show him that you’re serious. You can’t just say “I don’t like this” but then not do anything about it. He’ll think it’s no big deal to you. File for divorce and pack up the kids and leave. Tell him you’re not coming back until he makes some changes in his life.

Contact Gamblers Anonymous. They can offer you better advice than random people on the Yahoo Gamblers forum.

On vacation, she loves going to the casino’s.
Lately however, she’s been watching more gambling shows on tv, and gambling on the internet too, and this year on vacation, she couldn’t even be dragged out of the casino.
Now, she’s even going to the casino in our hometown.
Please, any suggestions? My dad gets really angry with this, and my family can’t deal with this.
I may be her daughter, but I am an older teenager, so I understand the implications of involving myself, i simply ask for your advice

I feel I have an issue with online gaming, but only online gaming, so I really don’t want to do something like Gamblers Anonymous or anything like that. I truly feel that I can take care of my problem by restricting myself. It’s worked in the past but I’ve been able to find loopholes when I have extra cash to throw around. There are hundreds of online casinos, so I can’t go to every one individually and tell them not to give me an account. Any ideas?

And if you’re really that bad, you should have no problem finding someone at your local pool hall willing to accept your challenge. Why don’t you put down your computer and head over there.

Online gambling is considered an illegal activity, however I feel like I should report my wins and losses in that area just the same as I report them from casinos. Will I get in trouble with the law by admitting that I gamble online (as millions of others do.)

The “casino” is required to give you a W-2G if your gambling winnings reach 0.00 or more or if you have any gambling winnings that are subject to Federal income tax. The 0.00 amount is increased to $ 1,200.00 for winnings from bingo or slot machines and to $ 1,500.00 for winning from Keno.

According to the IRS, “you must include your gambling winnings in your income on Form 1040, line 21. If you itemize your deductions on Schedule A (Form 1040), you can deduct gambling losses you had during the year, but only up to the amount of your winnings.”

I think it is important to report all of your income. I don’t think you have anything to worry about regarding whether online gambling is considered legal or illegal. You do not have to report the source of your gambling winnings and losses; you just have to report the amounts.
