Question by : What is the name of the book about gambling ,000/day?
I think it came out this year, its about a guy who details his gambling ups and downs. He must gamble ,000/day playing all kinds of games from poker to scratch tickets. His intent was to show that you can’t win gambling, but he actually ends up doing rather well (at least at the start) and even gets a Royal flush while writing the book. He was interviewed on the Howard Stern show regarding this book, that’s where I heard about it.

gambling is for losers…..only 1 out of 5 ppl walk out of a casino a winner, take those 5 winners back there again and only 1 out of 5 will come out a winner, rinse and repeat

Are those gambling cheat cards the best advice? I’ve seen little credit card sized cards that list what to do in Blackjack based on the player’s hand and the dealer’s hand. Are those the best strategy?

Those cards are basic strategy cards. They give you the play where the odds are going to be best in your favor. In the long run, you are better off playing using the basic strategy on those cards.

I heard that online gambling is illegal – at least for the state of Texas (where I’m living now), and wanted to know if this is true. I’d like to know where I could go online or off, or what phone call(s) to make, so that I would know for certain.

It is illegal in Texas. The only legal form of gambling in Texas is the lottery. They don’t intend to change the laws on it soon. They just bumped another request to legalize gambling last month. If you want to gamble, even online you need to cross the border. I am about an hour from Louisiana where you can gamble. Also you can hop a ship in Galveston and go out so many miles from shore where it is legal. They have daily trips offshore specifically for gambling.

My friend is 17 years old. He decided to deposit 30 dollars on a poker site via a visa-gift-card. He got it to ,400. He lives where you have to be 18 to legally gamble online. My friend knows that the site will send a check to him and they don’t verify how old you are. So my friend is ready to cash out. He also belongs to bankofamerica. So, my question is… If he were to take a ,400 check to bankofamerica to deposit into his account. Would they accept it? Would they say you are too young? If this is so he could wait till he is 18, but he wants the money asap. What should he do? Any other information about what he could expect in any case with bankofamerica would be great as well. e.p. tax writoffs, questions that could be asked by the bank. ect ect. Please help, thanks

Well,

Most likely the check will be in his name and then signed by the person in charge of cutting checks. Most likely there would not be any indication that the check came from a gambling oriented internet site other than a company name. In other words its not going to say “2400 dollars for poker” in the memo section. They would not be aware that it is against the TOS of the casino for minors to play. If anyone asks say its a paycheck.

2400 dollars is quite a large chunk of change but in terms of taxes its not the banks job to check to see that you are recording your taxes properly. In addition if hes not 18 and does not hold a job he most likely doesn’t file forms for the IRS. The only case where a bank might notify someone is if you were depositing thousands of dollars that happen to be in used hundreds, inside briefcases.

My advice, say its a summers paycheck for a company you work for.

My two weeks paychecks were around 800 or 900 dollars and no one batts an eye.

Your only other option is to withdraw it in smaller increments from the web site.
