Gambling in Taiwan is illegal.
Some Taiwanese loves to play Mah-jong (麻將) at home or specific place, also can play on net.
Should play with 4 people together.

Playing Pool (nine ball) is pretty big here. Few people know normal 8 ball like in N. America. Lots of old pool halls from the early nineties still exist around. They look very early nineties and probably mostly older mafia wannabes hang out there. Some of the goofier high school minions of the mafia will be there too.
Mah-Jong is very popular everywhere.
Pigeon racing is where fortunes are made and lost apparently. You can often see people on rooftops exercising their pigeon teams around supper time if you look up from the road at rush hour.
Normal Cards are present. Most people play blackjack at home or to drink with friends. Poker is known to some people…
The kids like to play Pokemon and Yu-Ji-Oh. Sometimes they play for cards to win them. Then when they lose they cry. Its very amusing but isnt allowed in my class.
Pachinko is technically illegal nationwide but that doesnt appear to stop vast brightly lit Pachinko halls appearing on every major road you drive down. Corruption? Hmmmm…. maybe… its right in your face.
