Question by Blessed: What are the pros and cons of gambling revenues?
I have a presentation to do and I am having a hard time finding journals that have pros and cons on gambling revenues.

Pro: Governments tax the heck out of this money.
Con: The benefit of the extra taxes given to a community is typically outweighed by the fact that much of the money comes from the citizens of that community.

the pros are if most of the revenue is coming from out of state. the city,county(or parrish)in my case,the state,and the federal govt love casinos imo.not to mention the extra tax revenue generated by the employees that live in the surrounding area.
the biggest con is it is not a guaranteed income for city,county..etc..etc. once another casino opens in a nearby state,what was once a thriving Business can dry up. also locals who really can’t afford to go can be a big con..another is indian reservation casinos..they virtually pay no tax at all.
